The Village is divided in to the following departments:
Administration and Finance
The Administration Department is led by the Village Administrator, who overseas the day-to-day operations and delivery of services. The Village Administrator is responsible for the efficient administration of all departments.
The Finance Department maintains the responsible use, investment, and security of Village funds, led by the Finance Director. In this manner, they prepare the annual budget and tax levy, and work with external auditors to prepare a Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. On a day-to-day basis, functions include: Utility Billing, Vehicle Stickers, and General Services.
The Community Development Department includes a Zoning Administrator, a Building Commissioner, inspectors, plan reviewers, code enforcement and multiple administrative assistants. The Department’s primary responsibilities include; building permitting, planning and zoning, and code enforcement. The Fire Protection of Beach Park is contracted through the following districts; Beach Park, Newport, and Winthrop Harbor. Residents are provided 24 hour emergency response through 911 dispatching.
The Police Department is contracted protection services through Lake County Sheriff's Department. Residents are provided 24 hour emergency response through 911 dispatching. The Village is also provided dedicated patrol services during peak hours.
The Public Works Department includes a Director, 5 full-time employees, 2 part-time employees, and an administrative assistant. The Department provides the following services: water and sanitary sewer maintenance, street maintenance, snow removal, and general services.
